Bedford Police and Billerica Police to Summons Man for Breaking and Entering

BEDFORD — Police Chief Robert Bongiorno and Billerica Police Chief Daniel Rosa report that a man will be summonsed in connection with breaking and entering into a home.

A 28-YEAR-OLD MALE, OF BEDFORD, will be summonsed to Concord District Court for:

• Breaking and Entering
• Malicious Destruction of Personal Property
• Larceny Over $250

“Together, with the Billerica Police Department, we were able to identify and locate the suspect involved in this case,” Chief Bongiorno said. “This is a perfect example of how community partners can work together to fight crime.”

On July 29 at 6:45 p.m., a Bedford police officer responded to a residence on Myers Lane for a report of a breaking and entering.

The homeowner reported a rock had been thrown through a bedroom window and his Apple iPad was missing. Through the “Find my iPad” feature, police were able to determine that the device was in an apartment on Boston Road in Billerica.

Police went to the apartment and located the iPad, which was identified by the Bedford homeowner.

After further investigation into the matter by the Bedford and Billerica Police, both departments informed the suspect he would be receiving summonses in connection with the break-in.

“I commend the officers of the Billerica Police Department and the Bedford Police Department for working together to locate the homeowner’s stolen property,” Chief Rosa said. “We are always happy to assist our counterparts.”
