Stoneham Police Searching for Armed Home Invasion Suspects
STONEHAM — Police Chief James McIntyre and the Stoneham Police Department are looking for three suspects involved in an early morning armed home invasion last week.
Two residents from a Lincoln Street home suffered injuries after three armed men broke into their residence and robbed them on Wednesday. The suspects entered the home through the rear door, which they unlocked by removing a nearby window. The suspects were reportedly armed with a handgun and knife. Once in the home, the suspects bound the residents hands and feet with duct tape. Both residents were assaulted before the suspects took items from the home and fled. After a period of time, the victims were able to free themselves and drove to the hospital for medical treatment.
Police are investigating drugs as a likely motive. Investigators believe that the victims were specifically targeted by their assailants and that this was not a random act of violence.
Two of the suspects are described as black men who were wearing black bandannas around their mouths. The other suspect is believed to be either black or white. Two of the men conversed back and forth in English and another language.
“Based upon our initial investigation, residents should not be concerned for their safety, as the suspects appeared to specifically target the victims,” Chief McIntyre said. “However, we ask that if anyone in the area saw anything suspicious early Wednesday morning that they please contact the police department.”
The community can reach the Stoneham Police Department at 781-438-1212. All callers may remain anonymous.
