Pepperell Police Arrest Two Men For Allegedly Breaking And Entering Into A Home
PEPPERELL — Police Chief David Scott reports that the Pepperell Police Department arrested two men in connection with a residential breaking and entering yesterday.
On Sunday, June 28, at approximately 2:40 p.m., two Pepperell police officers responded to a house alarm on Lawrence Street. As Officer Jared Carrubba turned onto the street, he noticed a man run toward a vehicle that was parked in the area. The man got in and the vehicle drove off.
As Officer Carrubba pulled the vehicle over, Officer Jeremiah Friend went and checked on the alarmed residence. At the home, Officer Friend discovered that the front door had been forced open in an apparent burglary. The homeowner was contacted and it was determined that items found inside the suspect vehicle were taken from the residence. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
ANTHONY A. MOCCIA, AGE 35, OF NASHUA, N.H. is charged with Breaking and Entering into a Building In the Daytime with Intent to Commit A Felony and Larceny Over $250.
MICHAEL T. VOSE, AGE 24, OF NASHUA, N.H. was also charged with Breaking and Entering into a Building In The Daytime with Intent to Commit A Felony and Larceny over $250, as well as Unlicensed Operation of A Motor Vehicle.
“The officers involved did a great job. They responded quickly, but also as safely as they could to catch these guys,” said Chief Scott, “These were the only two officers working the day shift. Officer Carrubba was forced to deal with these two alleged burglars by himself while Officer Friend went to check the home alone. At either location something could have gone bad quickly.”
Chief Scott also commends his evening shift officers, Sergeant Armando Herrera and Officer Fabrizio Vestri, for recognizing what was happening and heading to the area to back up their shorthanded dayshift colleagues prior to the official start of their shift.
“So many of the guys that work here show up for their shifts early to assist other officers during situations like this breaking and entering,” Chief Scott said. “It really helped and got our officers the backup they needed. This is a perfect example of police who go above and beyond to ensure their town remains safe.”
Both suspects are scheduled to be arraigned at Ayer District Court today.
