Career Heroin Dealer Arrested After Arlington Police Investigation

ARLINGTON — Police Chief Frederick Ryan reports that the Arlington Police Department arrested a repeat heroin dealer this week, after an investigation into allegations of drug dealing in a commercial district of town.

Subsequently, police also arrested the dealer’s customer, who officers observed purchasing heroin.

“We are in the midst of a nationwide heroin epidemic,” Chief Ryan said. “We will continue to go after those who profit from human suffering and the destruction of lives, families, and communities. In that regard, the public is our best weapon. The Arlington Police Department has build up tremendous partnerships with business leaders and residents who are unwilling to tolerate drug dealers in their neighborhoods.”

As a result of the Arlington Police Investigation:

JOHNNY MCCLOSKEY, AGE 26, OF MEDFORD was arrested and is charged with:

  • Distributing A Class A Drug (Heroin)
  • Possession Of A Class C Drug With The Intent To Distribute
  • Conspiracy To Violate The Drug Law
  • Drug Violation Near A School/Park

SCOTT PISANO, AGE 32, OF LEXINGTON is charged with:

  • Possession Of A Class A Drug (Heroin)
  • Conspiracy To Violate The Drug Law

MCCLOSKEY is well known to the Arlington Police department and has several drug charges on his record, including six open cases out of Medford.

BACKGROUND

On June 24, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Arlington police were in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Park Avenue to investigate reports of illegal drug activity. They witnessed MCCLOSKEY make a hand-to-hand transaction with PISANO.

Officers then stopped MCCLOSKEY and PISANO and detained them. After a search of MCCLOSKEY, police discovered several Clonazepam pills and an undisclosed amount of cash. A package of heroin was located with PISANO.

Both were arrested, booked and held at the Arlington Police Department pending arraignment in Cambridge District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
