Lawrence Police Arrest 22 in Major Operation Targeting Heroin Trade

LAWRENCE – Police Chief James Fitzpatrick announces that the Lawrence Police Department arrested nearly two dozen people on Friday in connection with a major anti-drug operation, taking heroin dealers and their customers off the street and out of the city.

Those arrested range in age from 17 to 59 years old. Buyers had come from outside the city and the state to conduct business in Lawrence due to its proximity to major highways and the New Hampshire border.

Police seized assorted bags of heroin and just over $4,000 in cash. The investigation and operation was conducted in conjunction with several other law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

“Today we sent a message to drug dealers and those who think they can come to our city to purchase narcotics with impunity that we will not tolerate this dangerous and illegal activity,” Chief Fitzpatrick said. “We are out there, and we are watching. We will find you. We will arrest you. Lawrence is not a city that will tolerate the proliferation of poisons in and around our community.”

• JAMES MCKUSKER, AGE 30, OF EXETER, N.H., is charged with Possession Of A Class A Drug
• ESTALIN GUERRERO, AGE 20, OF METHUEN is charged with Distribution of a Class D Drug and Possession Of a Class D Drug With Intent to Distribute
• CHELSEA BENNETT, AGE 21, OF ANDOVER is charged with Trespassing After Notice, Knowingly Being Present Where Heroine is Kept and Giving A False Name On Arrest
• FELIPE RAMOS JR., AGE 35, OF LAWRENCE is a Fugitive from Justice in Texas and is charged with Conspiracy to Possess With The Intent to distribute 50 Grams or More of Meth, Conspiracy To Possess With The Intent to Distribute 1 Kilogram Or More of Heroin and Conspiracy To Launder Monetary Instruments
• CAROL JOHNSON, AGE 59, OF LAWRENCE is charged with Being A Common Night Walker and Possession Of A Class E Drug
• CLIFFORD LLOYD, AGE 28, OF PELHAM N.H. is charged with Conspiracy To Violate A Controlled Substance and Attempt To Commit Crimes
• JOSE CRUZ-GUZMAN, AGE 33, OF LAWRENCE is charged with Conspiracy To Violate A Controlled Substance, Attempt to Commit A Crime, Reckless Operation Of A Motor Vehicle and Assault and Battery With A Dangerous Weapon
• CHARLENE BERRIGAN, AGE 31, OF WOBURN is charged with Knowingly Being Present Where Heroin Is Kept
• JOHN LUCCESI, AGE 30, OF STONEHAM is charged with Possession of Class A Drug
• EMANUEL BAEZ, AGE 21, OF LAWRENCE is charged with three counts of Distribution of a Class A Drug, and Possession With Intent to Distribute A Class A Drug
• LUIS RIVERA, AGE 36, OF LAWRENCE is charged with Distribution Of A Cass A Drug
• FARRIN DUFOUR, AGE 21, OF METHUEN Possession Class A Drug
• A 17-YEAR OLD MALE, OF LAWRENCE, is charged with Being A Delinquent To Witness Distribution Of A Class A Drug, Being A Delinquent To Witness Possession Of A Class A Drug To A Minor Near A School/Park
• ZECHARIA PELLETIER, AGE 27, OF DERRY, N.H. is charged with Possession of Class A Drug
• ALFRED COLON JR., AGE 29, OF LAWRENCE is charged with Possession of Class A Drug and Unlicensed Operation Of A Motor Vehicle
• ELIZABETH GRIFFIN, AGE 28, OF BEDFORD, N.H. is charged with Possession of  A Class A Drug
• JOSHUA REYNOLDS, AGE 24, OF BEDFORD, N.H. is charged with Possession of Class A Drug
• ERIC GILLESPIE, AGE 31, OF LONDONDERRY, N.H. is charged with Possession of Class A Drug
• MIGUEL AYALA, AGE 44, OF LAWRENCE is charged with Distribution Of A Cass A Drug
• ANGEL RIVERA AGE 47, OF LAWRENCE is charged with Distribution Of A Cass A Drug
• BRYAN PERRY AGE 29, OF WOBURN is charged with Possession of Class A Drug and Possession of a Class B Drug
• MICHELLE HENDERSON, AGE 39, OF BURLINGTON is charged with Possession of Class A Drug

Some suspects were arraigned Friday and others will be arraigned next week in Lawrence District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
