Wakefield Police Arrest Three Boston Men for Stealing Tires and Wheels
WAKEFIELD — Police Chief Rick Smith reports that the Wakefield Police Department early yesterday morning arrested three men for allegedly stealing tires and rims from a vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot.
Police were called to an apartment development on Audubon Road shortly after midnight on Thursday for a reported larceny in progress. The apartment complex has a large parking lot, and the caller reported that men in dark clothes were removing the wheels from a Kia Optima parked in the lot. The suspects were seen getting into a Honda Odyssey minivan.
Wakefield Police Officer David Rando arrived quickly and was able to successfully stop the Honda occupied by the suspects, as the minivan was exiting the complex. Other officers arrived quickly afterward.
Four tires and wheels were visible in plain view inside the vehicle.
The suspects were arrested and charged with Larceny Over $250. They were identified as:
- TERRANCE JASON RAMOS-FARNUM, AGE 25, OF DORCHESTER
- JOEL WINSLOW, AGE 26, OF DORCHESTER
- and ANTHONY SANCHEZ, AGE 25, OF DORCHESTER
The suspects were taken into custody for arraignment in Malden District Court.
Chief Smith praised the quick response time of the officers.
“Our Wakefield Police Officers were able to respond immediately and arrive quickly to a reported crime in progress and capture the suspects red-handed,” Chief Smith said. “This is a job well done, and it represents our commitment to deter crime and maintain the quality of life in our community.”
The stolen wheels and tires were returned to the rightful owner.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
